NaNo2015-2

November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo or just NaNo), a perfect opportunity for WRW members.  To get ready for NaNo, you’ll need a working title and plot ready for November 1.  To complete NaNo, you’ll need to write 50,000 words during November.

You can find more information about NaNoWriMo and register for their tools and trackers at http://nanowrimo.org.  (WRW and NaNo are not affiliated.)

If you’re looking for a way to kick-off NaNo or if you prefer to write in the company of others, take a look at our groups below. Some meet every week, some meet only once, and some meet all year!  You’re welcome to participate in one or more of the events!

Tuesday Night Writes

Meets every Tuesday evening in November (3, 10, 17, 24), 6pm-9pm
Panera Restaurant, Ballston Mall, Arlington, VA
Coordinator: Keely Thrall, programs@wrwdc.com, 202-441-9949

No need to register, just show up.

Coordinator Notes:  The plan for NaNo: Arrive between 6:00-7:00 to eat dinner, talk about your goal for the evening, and get into a writing mindset. We’ll hold four 25 minute sprints starting at 7:00pm with 5-minute stretch breaks in between. We wrap up at 9:00.

NaNo Kickoff – Fairfax

Meets November 1, 9am – 12pm
Wegman’s Fairfax, 11620 Monument Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030
Coordinators: Taylor Reynolds, taylor.reynolds@gmail.com, 740-407-7204 or
MK Meredith,

Happy to brainstorm over lunch, but please come prepared to write!

Bring your favorite snacks. I’ll have fruit options, water, plain seltzer, and regular Coke on hand to drink and can probably handle coffee and tea (but you’re probably better off stopping at Starbucks!) If you’re driving, contact me for parking instructions.
